Christmas Collection: Local Food Bank

Christmas collection for our local Foodbank in Bolton.

We wanted to let you know that here at Turton, a group of our wonderful students are once again running our Christmas collection for our local Foodbank in Bolton. Over the last few years, we have collected meals to distribute to local families in crisis. This year, especially at Christmas, with the rising cost of food prices, there are many families in great need. New research for the End Child Poverty Coalition shows that across the Northwest of England 37% of all children are living in poverty.

If you feel able to help, we will be collecting long-dated non-perishable food items such as:

  1. Tins of pulses, tuna, vegetables
  2. Meat-based meals in a tin
  3. Jars of pasta/curry sauce.

Students can hand in donations to their form tutors up until Monday 16th of December.

Thank you for your support; it will make such a difference to those who need help in our local community.
