Year 9 Parents’ Evening – Wednesday 1st March (3.30pm to 6.30pm)
Dear parents,
I would like to invite you to attend our parents’ evening on Wednesday 1st March. This is an important evening, and provides you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s learning and their next steps.
This event will be face-to-face at school, with appointments made using our online booking system. We hope the booking system will make the process more efficient for parents.
In response to feedback from parents, we have changed the format of our event. There will be set appointment times with a travel time between appointments. In order to allow teachers to see the maximum number of parents, the appointment time and travel time are set to the same length: 4 minutes each. These timings will be signaled by a timer projected on the walls, and our prefects holding up a coloured card when it is time to move between appointments. The prefects will also help you to find any teacher. We hope that this will mean a more just and fair system, ensuring that all parents get the same amount of time with our teachers. We also hope this will mean you will not have to stand in long queues. We are also going to use two rooms to give parents more space and privacy for their conversations.
If you haven’t used School Cloud before to make appointments, then don’t worry as it is an intuitive online booking system. It allows you to choose your own appointment times, and you will receive an email confirming your appointments. Appointments can be made from Thursday 16th February at 6p.m. and will close on Monday 27th February at 11:00 a.m. Please visit https://turtonsch.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to book your appointments (after Thursday 16th February – 6pm). A short guide on how to make appointments is included with this letter. You will login with the following information:
- Parent’s first name
- Parent’s surname
- Student’s first name (preferred name not legal name – so Ben for example, not Benjamin)
- Student’s surname
- Student’s date of birth
