Army Engineers visit Turton – Rocket Cars!!!

Army Engineers visit Turton

Two British Army Engineers came into school to do a workshop on Rocket Cars.  We watched a video and had a discussion on what sort of jobs and transportation we thought there are in the British Army.  We worked in the sports hall and were put into groups and given a foam block.  We designed a car that we were then going to test later in the day trying to make it as aero dynamic as possible.  We used the hot wire cutter to create the car shape and then decorated it.  My teams car came 2nd at 44 MPH, but winning was not the point, the point was having fun and getting to take as much inspiration from it as we possibly could.  One of the things we learnt was that 4% of the British Army in engineering are women.
