Special thanks to Sir David Crausby and Tom Howard (UCL) who visited Turton School for the first time today. It is particularly pleasing that both are recognising and showing their support for our work with the Beacon School programme for Holocaust education.

Turton runs a professional development programme for teachers that is research informed. With this in mind, Scott Tither (our Head of History) has become a lead teacher of Holocaust education with UCL who run the Beacon School programme. Scott has inspired teachers and students with his passions and ambitions for holocaust education and having had the privilege of seeing some of the work that students have completed, I am amazed by their knowledge and the depth of their insights and compassion.
