The Mayor's Cadet

This evening, I had the honour of announcing Lance Corporal Orla as the Mayor’s Cadet for the municipal year 2025–2026.

After a highly competitive selection process, Turton High school pupil Orla stood out for her exceptional public speaking skills, her commitment to community service, and the leadership she has already shown as a young cadet. She is a credit to her organisation and a fantastic representative of Bolton’s youth.

As Mayor’s Cadet, Orla will accompany me at civic events throughout the year, beginning with Armed Forces Day later this month.

Congratulations, Orla, I look forward to seeing you at events over the next 12 months!
